Holiday in Spain: More than sun, beaches, flamenco and siesta ?…
Forget about the clichés, come and discover a different, lesser known side to this magnificent country. We are talking about a town and province rivalled by few in terms of beauty, historical and cultural heritage and the variety and conservation of its flora and fauna: Salamanca (Castile and Leon).
We are talking about a lost paradise, where time has stood still, a place to spend a unforgetable vacation: The Sierra de Francia. All those who visit promise to return and most are as good as their Word.
Angela and Frédéric will host in their two holiday cottages in restored dwellings typical of the Sierra yet complete with all the modern fixtures and fittings you could need. These cottages can be found in the heart of a small and peaceful village: Villanueva del Conde. Enjoying a spectacular view of the sierra and the large garden, you will have a memorable holiday where there is something for everyone. Salamanca and the Sierra offer multiple possibilities which will satisfy even the most demanding; you can choose from cultural, gastronomic, sporting or leisure activities. Come and let yourself be enchanted.
What they think of our accommodations
Frederick was a marvelous host giving us loads of info on the area as well as giving us a very warm welcome. The accommodation was great his garden beautiful…everything was wonderful. The area in which his village is situated is delightful and there are wonderful walks from village to village…..thank you Frederic!
I cannot say enough good things about our stay last summer at Casa Fuente. We have 2 young kids (ages 3 & 8) and over the 6 weeks we spent in Spain, Casa Fuente remains their favorite week – mine too. If you are looking for peaceful village life, while still having plenty of nearby places to visit, this is the place. We loved exploring villages, swimming at the natural “swimming pool”, racing to meet the bread truck in the morning, enjoying the beautiful garden and picking cherries right off the trees in the yard. The house is rustic charming and lots of space. Frederic and Angela were so helpful and kind – even when we needed some urgent medical care for one of the kids during the stay. Our kids loved the telescope viewing that Frederic shared with us. We have been to Spain many times, but this is first time I have been compelled to write a review. Casa Fuente feels that special. We hope to be back!
