Rural house in Salamanca (Accomodation for a maximum of 7)

The house called "La Fuente" (The Fountain) is to be found in a very quiet street of the village. Below the house flows a small stream of water from the two fountains in the adjacent square. These fountains provide water for the numerous orchards and kitchen gardens located in front of the house. Between the birdsong you can just make out the babbling of this small brook wich also means that the house is cooler during the hot summer nights.
Throughout the restoration process we tried to find a harmony between conservation and respect for the typical architecture of the sierra on the one hand, and the comfort of our guests on the other. As in former times, the beams and the ceilings are made of wood from chestnut trees, in fact wood is all around: The stairs, landings, bannisters, panneling, shutters, all of wich create a warm and cosy atmosphere.

The windows, facing south-east, offering one of the most beautiful views of the sierra. The kitchen has an adjoining balcony with a stairs leading straight down into the garden.
